Plan of Salvation

Perfection is required to enter heaven, but none of us are perfect.  How then, can anyone enter heaven?  God the Father and                God the Son made a way.  The Father sent the Son to earth to experience all that mankind goes through.  The Son willingly went through all that a human being goes through in death, using His blood to pay our price.  We are saved when we get His blood applied to our life. When the Father looks at us through the blood of His perfect Son, He sees us as perfect.

How do we get the blood of Jesus applied to our life?  The first step is to recognize our need for it.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 - The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The previous verse is talking about spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God.  The next step is to recognize God's provision.

Romans 5:8 - God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

All that is left is to take God at His word.

Romans 10:13 - Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

All this is applied through  prayer, which is talking to God just like you talk to anyone else.  Although we can't see Him, we have His assurance that He hears us.  Matthew 18:20 states that when two on earth agree about something that is being prayed for, God will answer in the way He knows is best.  I agree with your request for salvation.  Feel free to put these four verses from Romans in your own words.  God knows your heart, and is available at any time, for any request that doesn't go against His word (the Bible).  Its not so much the words you use, but the way you feel inside.  If you have trouble putting these verses into words, here is a sample prayer.

Dear heavenly Father, I recognize my sin and ask your forgiveness.  I now ask that the blood of your Son be applied to my life and thank You for it's provision.  I give You Lordship over my life, knowing that You know what's best for me better than I know myself. Thank You, in Jesus' name, Amen.

When the blood of Jesus is applied to your life, you are born into God's family.  The problem is that you still have to live with your human fleshly nature, which is prone to keep on sinning.  When this happens, fellowship may be broken, but not membership in God's family, because of the promise in Hebrews 13:5.  Provision is made for fellowship to be restored in 1 John 1:9.

Just as when you were born physically, physical nourishment and human contact were vital to your healthy physical growth; spiritual nourishment and contact with fellow believers is vital to your healthy spiritual growth.  Spiritual nourishment comes from daily prayer and Bible reading.  Spiritual contact comes from regular attendance and involvement in a local church.  It doesn't matter which church you attend as long as it is true to the Bible.  If you have any questions feel free to call our church, 717-261-7931.  If no one is there, leave your number and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  You will always be welcome at Christ Chapel International.
